Poem- Thanks
Created by Emily 6 years ago
Thanks for
being my grandpa,
You showed
me so many things,
You taught
me how to fly a kite
And pushed
me on the swings.
When I was
just a baby,
That hook
above your door,
Used to have
my bucket swing on,
We should
put it there once more.
Now you have
great grandchildren,
Maybe they
would like that swing,
In your
memory, what you taught us,
We need to
show them everything.
Thanks for
being my grandpa,
We always
used to go fishing,
I think you
maybe got annoyed,
When the
luncheon meat went missing!
One for me
then one for the fish,
That’s the
way it would be
But you
always made sure we were fed,
Bacon and
egg butties and tea.
They had to
be a certain way though,
With butter
right up to the crusts!
Then we used
to keep them warm on the way,
On the car
heaters, it was a must!
Thanks for
being my grandpa,
And
introducing me to a good song,
Bee gee’s,
Boney M, Tina turner,
I have liked
these for so long.
Every
Saturday night,
After visiting
your mum and dad,
Driving back
in that old Volvo,
You would
play these, for that I am glad.
Now I hear
them I have a memory,
Of when you
used to sing,
Even to
Shania Twain,
I think you
liked anything!
Thanks for
being my grandpa,
And a great
grandpa too,
You will be
missed so very much,
But we have
great memories of you.
